Mac Miller Faces $10M Lawsuit

Mac Miller is being sued by Hip Hop Legend Lord Finesse for 10 million dollars in royalties damages. Mac rapped over  Finesse’s “Hip 2 Da Game” instrumental for the track “Kool Aid & Frozen Pizza” off  his 2010 K.I.D.S. mixtape. Apparently it wasn’t Mac’s use of the song for his free mixtape that bothered Finesse, but the fact that he shot a promotional music video for his version of the song.

Another interesting tidbit is that Finesse’s track was also based around an uncleared sample. Hopefully this situation is resolved outside of the court room or its implications could effect all future free mixtapes.
