TEFMAN: FEEL GOOD MUSIC

The title Feel Good Music embodies the entire vibe of the album. Tef Man is a positive artist. Always acknowledge the negativity of the world, yet always reminding the listener to disregard it.

“Feel Good Music” definitely has its list of possible singles. The current lead single is “Do It For The Love” (Click here for video). Songs like “Stop The Violence” and “Move Wit The Money “ can easily be follow-up singles.

Feel Good Music is truly an experience from front to back. There are a string of tracks during the middle of the album transition the project quite nicely.

FEEL GOOD MUSIC

Dope intro. Sets the tone for the project out the gate. Definitely has a retro feel to it. Nice production by Scattered Brains. Very melodic; I love the breakdown.

DO IT FOR THE LOVE

Following the intro with the single. I think the sequencing of the album is great; “Do It For The Love” is placed perfectly. Continuing on the positive vibe. Produced by DJ Pain 1. Dope track.

RUNNING OUT OF TIME

This appears to be the next single. Not sure if it’s a sample or guest appearance on the chorus but I really like. Hard drum beat. The vibe really fits on all elements. The mood of the album begins to get to get a little darker.

TRAPPED IN THE GAME

Here Tef is telling a story of being exactly what the title says, “Trapped in the Game”. I feel this record can definitely reach out to the misguided youth. I really like the timing of it. Even though Tef Man talks about the negativity of the world, he is sure to offer a solution, or a “remedy”.

THE REMEDY

I must admit I’m a hip hop head/sample junkie. This Rickaby production is simply dope. I love the vocal chops. Very ‘DJ Premo-ish.” Dope record. HIP HOP MAKES EVERYTHING ALL RIGHT…

REHAB

Rehab is definitely a possible single. Obvious analogy of a woman but executed very well. I just really like the feel of this song. DJ Pain 1 production. Bee Welz does really well on the chorus.

ASTRONAUT

“Astronaut” begins a nice three track run.  This is another analogy for a relationship. Well placed. Great imagery. Tef Man does well at keeping the mood of the track in it’s right zone. More great work from a singer on the chorus in “J Stills”.

SPACESHIP

“Spaceship” continues with the whole “elevation of self” vibe that I get from Feel Good Music. Solid song.

CRASH LANDING

“Crash Landing” is just that, a return to reality from Tef and his spaceship. I think this really raises the vibe of the album at the right time. I think Tef energy is amazing. Yet another dope chorus.

STOP THE VIOLENCE

In my opinion, this song should be a single. Record is all around dope. Los is on the beat and chorus. Los is very talented and he captured Tef Man’s direction flawlessly. Tef is jacking a little bit lyrically and I like it. This is by far one of the best songs on the album.

READY TO GO

I feel like this song should have been the outro and the next 5 songs should have been bonus tracks. This is just me being a nitpicker.  Solid record that I really felt tied up and could have concluded Feel Good Music seamlessly.

SLIPPIN

This song has a classic NY feel.  Solid track.

MOVE WIT THE MONEY

Chaos murders this! I’ve been checking for him for quite awhile. Tef and Chaos have two completely different sounds sonically, however, on this track they mesh seamlessly. One of my favorite songs on the album.

LINE DOWN THE BLOCK

Beat knocks. Tef flow is nice on it. Not bad.

GET DOWN OR LAY DOWN

Song is cool.

TURNT UP

I definitely think this song should have been sequenced in the project earlier. Dope beat, good hook. It’s definitely catchy as hell! Song does exactly what I believe Tef set out for it to do.

Rating: 3/5

Room For Improvement:

I think Tef has the whole song making down. What I would like to see more of from Tef is a more versatile delivery. I feel like I’ve heard all these flows done before by various east coast artists. I really like the beat selection of the project. It all fit together and tied in really nice. However, the production sounded dated. It had a lot of early 2000 sounding New York beats on it. I feel this is useful in moderation, but not over the course of a full album in 2013.

Last Words:

Tef is an inspiration for the entire Madison Hip Hop scene. I look forward to more visuals for Feel Good Music and for whatever he follows with.

I Love Hip Hop Blog – DOPE Track….

Fresh off of their phantom A3C appearances….
The Atlanta Duo EarthGang releases a new record.  They have teamed up with Money Makin Nique
and the MoneyMakinBrOs to deliver.  The track was produced by relatively unknown producer “Left Lane Lonnie.”
We’re sure that fact is soon to change.  EarthGang is scheduled to release “Shallow Graves for Toys” this fall.
This track will definitely be something we’re looking forward to.  This isn’t for the faint of heart or imagination.
It is a dark look into the city these two acts call home; Atlanta, GA. Sources say this track was to originally be named “Home of the Brave”
but was swapped out for the more animated “FKTL.
Fitting…

Quelle Chris “Q-Mixes” Luxury Remixes – New Release

Quelle Chris “Q-Mixes” Luxury Remixes – New Release

I Love Hip Hop Blog - via UnsungHipHop.comQuelle Chris is one of the most talented MC’s you have never heard of. Raw, uncompromising and very much his own biggest fan, Quelle has been quietly winning over ears with his rapping and production since 2009’s Blue Mondays. Now, Mello Music Group is excited to announce Quelle Chris has signed a multi-album deal with MMG.

As an appetizer to the Quelle Chrisexperience, enjoy a set of Q-Mixes (aka The Quelle Chris Luxury Remixes). Pulling from a diverse selection of (mostly) hip-hop, the eccentric rapper and producer has re-arranged some classics into grungy and muddy versions of themselves. He adds grit to grime and flips style on its head when he pitches Cam’rondown to sound like the boogie monster, or when he remixes Madlib into a place just as quirky and mesmerizing as the heralded producers’ own sound. He puts Sir Mix-a-Lot in the middle of a chaotic electronics department and shows how an adequate filter and the right drums makeFiona Apple dope.
Quelle Chris is one to keep an eye on. Heads like DJ House Shoes, Roc Marciano and Danny Brown respect the sound and have been supporting the movement, now it’s time to kick it up a notch. Expect more material from Quelle via Mello Music Group soon.

ILLADELP of TIME IS MONEY PROMOTIONS

I Love Hip Hop Blog - On April 8, Audrey Ann Parker gave life to a star, who would bless each and every mic, speak the truth, and share his love for hip hop.
Kenyatta Parker, even as a child, was destined for greatness. With his sister, Clairessa L. Walker’s love and support, Kenyatta was challenged to rap about things she would point out just to keep his freestyle and rap thirst alive.

Raised on the streets of North Philadelphia, he received his first taste of stardom as a rising hip hop artist when he performed with Charniece Bailey in the Power 99 FM’s “Stay in School” Campaign. This campaign gave aspiring rap artist the opportunity to spread the message about staying in school and saying no to drugs. After winning this competition, Charneice and Kenyatta had the pleasure of meeting the group Total and since we represented Strawberry High School, Total performed at our school. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he served as a Sergeant. While stationed in Okinawa, Japan in 2002, he connected with Mark Thompson who ignited his thirst for music and recorded, “illadlep” and “False Prophet”. It was at this time, he adopted the stage name “illadelp” because he viewed his self as one of the illest artist who represented Philadelphia, so by combining the two , the world was slowly introduced to illadelp. However, when he returned back to the states, his dream of being the music industry slowly died, but the fire to record and write remained. Just when he was done dreaming about getting his music heard, In 2011, he reconnected with a former Strawberry Mansion classmate, Charron Monaye, who took an interest in his music and pushed his dreams forward. Since then, he has recorded countless of music, performed at the Martini Lounge in San Diego for a show called “The Breaks”, auditioned for the television show “The Voice”, and featured at “The Arts Garage”, “The Shed”, “Coast 2 Coast Industry Mixer”, and “IStandard Producer Showcase”. He has recorded with ML The Truth of 100 Drums Production, LLC out of Jackson Ms., Zaq and Mike with Mike and Ike Studios. On February 1, 2011, he received his first placement under the direction of DJ Truuf as his song, I’m Ready featuring ML The Truth was selected to be on the Converse Allstar Mixtape Vol 2, which has been circulating across the globe.

Even though, he is not signed to a major company, he continues to fight against the odds and live out a dream that others deem impossible. His songs, Up In the Club and Ride With Me are hits and are full rotation on SwuvRadio and Mix1620, both hosted by DJ Truuf. As he continues to establish a fan base and brand, this aspiring artist is gearing up for a promising career. With a great team, supportive uncle, and four girls, Unique Parker, Cherish Parker, Kylese Parker and Jordan Parker, there is much more to come. Look out for his mixtape coming early Summer 2012 and other great opportunities.
