Raekwon, is an American rapper and a member of the Wu-Tang Clan. He released his solo debut, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx… in 1995, and has since recorded numerous solo albums, as well as continuing to work with Wu-Tang and providing an extensive number of guest contributions to other hip hop artist’s works. On December 13, Raekwon will host Staten Island Zone A, Hurricane Sandy Benefit Concert, with invited celebrity guest, In support of his hometown disaster due to Hurricane Sandy.

On Sunday Dec. 9, Raekwon took time out of his busy recording schedule to visit one of the hardest hit areas in Staten Island , Midland Beach. There he met with rescue and recovery efforts team South Shore Kiwanis Foundation who gave him a tour of the effected area. Raekwon got to see first hand the devastaion Hurricane Sandy has caused to his fellow Staten Islanders and felt the need to give a helping hand. The donations from the benefit concert will go to South Shore Kiwanis Foundation. 501c3 on Staten Island (Zone A) to help with supplies for the residents.

In conjunction with the concert event, Brooklyn based bicycle company Affinity Cycles is collaborating with Raekwon and have designed 5 New York City themed Hurricane relief bikes to be auctioned off via ebay beginning this Friday December 7.

All proceeds raised from each bikes will go directly to the families directly affected by the storm in Staten Island, Redhook, Coney Island and Rockaway Beach.

In order to aid those impacted by the storm, Ride4NY will be also announcing December dates for a mass group ride and events aimed to raise immediate funds and rebuilding support. RIDE4NY supports the grass roots relief efforts who were first responders after the storm. These local heros became key benefactors for the restoration efforts in their community during the first days and weeks after the hurricane. These communal hubs lept into action and provided for their community with food, clothes, supplies and swarms of volunteer help with on demand door to door assistance with clean up, demo and logistics to help rebuild and restore.

The Benefit Concert is sponsored by mySONGisREADOradio. the production company coordinated the event with a full staffing of dj’s and promotional marketing tools bridging all the companies affiliated together in one Venue for a great cause.

One month after New York City took a devastating blow from Hurricane Sandy, the hardest hit areas are still mostly without power and sustainable living conditions.

Tech N9ne Performance At AC3

I Love Hip Hop Blog - AC3 Hip Hop Festival this past weekend took over Atlanta. So many performances, so many places to be at one time, so much talent, so many artists. This was Tech N9ne first time performing at A3C put as you can see he put on a show. I’m not a heavy listener of Tech N9ne but I adore his marketing and branding as an artist and thinks that he has done an awesome job doing what he does.
